Who are we?
So who are we and what do we do? Good question!

Jacquie Lancaster (Lancaster Productions) and Michelle share a moment at the Paint Place conference
When the Wine Punters blog began in 2008, this is what we said about ourselves: "The Wine Punters crew currently consists of a number of people who happily admit their total lack of qualifications with regard to vine cultivation or wine making but who really really really love their wine. None of them have any connection to the wine industry but believe this lack of knowledge allows them to bring a fresh eye to all things wine".
For three years this worked fine as we de-mystified the world of wine for our readers and discovered that calling Tasmanian wine 'premium' wasn't marketing spin, it was fact. About this time we realised that rather than just write about it we wanted to become more heavily involved. So, Michelle left her 'day job' and started working in the cellar door of a local vineyard, and Phil, after working on some pinot vintages, began making his own cider.

As if this wasn't enough, we went further. "What if we started putting wine, from these great producers we had discovered as part of the blog, in front of people in an interesting and fun way?" we asked ourselves. Then we thought "We might sell some ... and raise money for charity ... as well as fund our own increasingly expensive drinking habit!". So then we thought, "We'd better get started then".
Since then we have run a number of successful corporate, charity and conference events.
So now you know a bit about us, and we're getting along so well, let's get together to make your next wine experience both memorable and fun!
