Jazzy
was
helping at the Winesouth White Wine Weekend when she agreed to have a
chat with us. She lets us know what she enjoys about
winemaking and does a great job promoting Panorama wines.
Lastly,
if you want to know how they get the "eggy smell" out of wine
then listen and learn folks. |
Jazzy
- The youngest winemaker in Australia?

Jazzy
helps Dee meet and greet. We went to
the Winesouth White
Wine Weekend at the IXL Atrium in Hobart and,
aside from having a
great time, we met Jazzy who we believe must be the youngest winemaker
in Australia. Luckily for us she agreed to have a quick chat.
Jazzy
is only 11 but still helps her Mum and Dad (Sharon and Mike of Panorama
Vineyard) make some of their wines. She has already had a
wine named after her and the Panorama Jazzy Rosè was
featured at the Winesouth Red Wine Weekend in June. If
our memory
serves us correctly it was a pretty good drop. We are looking
forward to the Jazzy handcrafted 'sticky' wine when it is released.
Not
content with that Jazzy is also a regular at the Winesouth events
helping Dee Atkinson to meet wine lovers as they arrive, stamp their
hands and help with the lucky door prize. In fact being busy
seems to be a theme in Jazzy's life. PJ asked her what she
did when she wasn't helping in the vineyard or travelling an hour each
way to school and she talked about riding around on her quad bike
checking on the nets and fences around the vineyard.
Obviously not a girl for sitting in her room talking to her
friends or updating her facebook page.

Jazzy
is a
very nice
person and despite PJ's best efforts to generate some sibling rivalry (shame PJ shame - Ed)
Jazzy was very complimentary about her sister
Natasha and rated her as the superior winemaker - although
she did agree that Natasha drank more than her. Winepunters.com
approached Natasha for a response to this
allegation but she declined to comment (enough of the gutter press
work! - Ed).
It
was also
heartening to hear someone who loves
the thought of science and learning in general. We think she
has got a
bright future ahead and it will be interesting to see where she decides
to make her mark.
